AIR TRAVEL – BAGGAGE FEES – PACK LIGHT

Airlines are charging for check in luggage it will continue as it has become a profit center.  Ads from Southwest Airlines are making fun of it, but fees are here to stay.
Fees on the rise
Packing requires thought and discipline or a trick
Bottom Line:  You need to pack less.
A well-planned wardrobe will save money and avoid hassles. Depending on the length of stay, include just the necessary for an enjoyable time away. The trick is to pack light and choose colors and styles that will work together. The following list of items easily fit inside carry-on luggage and a travel bag.
Your Bag:
Carry-on Bag: A bag that fits inside the overhead compartment of an airplane. Generally may not exceed 45 linear inches (length+width+height) with a maximum weight of 40 lbs. Look for bags that are made of super light materials, expandable, with an adjustable handle, and sturdy wheels.
Clothes: Choose pieces you can mix and match. Also, make sure they are wrinkle free materials.
Toiletries: Do not pack unnecessarily. Most hotels, B&BS and cruise ships provide basic toiletries such as shower gel, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and hair driers.  For travel size cosmetics and facial care products 3.0 oz/100ml, place in Ziploc bags. For more information
Most drugstores carry travel size products.
For the family, make sure everyone has his or her own carry on and a small shoulder bag.  While packing, lay everything out on the bed, put together different combinations, and adjust accordingly. For longer trips, one checked suitcase for the family should be enough.
